February 14, 2013
Pensacola, FL – On Wednesday, February 27, West Florida Healthcare will offer a free seminar entitled “Acid Reflux (GERD): Diagnosing and Treating a Common Problem.” The seminar will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the 7th Floor Auditorium of West Florida Hospital, 8383 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola. The speaker will be David Tenniswood, M.D., General Surgeon with West Florida Medical Group.
Millions of Americans suffer every day from acid reflux caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). GERD can occur when a muscle at the end of the esophagus does not close properly, allowing irritating stomach acid to leak back, or reflux, into the esophagus. At the seminar, Dr. Tenniswood will discuss the symptoms of GERD, how it is diagnosed, and the surgical and non-surgical treatment options that are available to help improve patients’ quality of life.
The seminar is free and open to the public. To register, call (850) 494-3212.
