May 29, 2013
Pensacola, FL – On Wednesday, June 12, West Florida Healthcare will offer a free seminar entitled “Treatment Options for Inguinal Hernia.” The seminar will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the 7th Floor Auditorium of West Florida Hospital, 8383 North Davis Highway, Pensacola. The speaker will be Jon Moore, M.D., General Surgeon with West Florida Medical Group.
More common in men than in women, an inguinal hernia occurs when soft tissue pushes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal muscles, causing a bulge in the groin. The bulge may hurt or burn. People who are overweight or do a lot of lifting, coughing or straining are more likely to develop an inguinal hernia. This type of hernia may also cause swelling and a feeling a heaviness, tugging, or burning in the area of the hernia.
The seminar is free and open to the public. To register, call (850) 494-3212.
