Latest Advances in the Treatment of Colorectal Cancer

Pensacola, FL – West Florida Hospital will offer a free program entitled “Latest Advances in the Treatment of Colorectal Cancer” on Tuesday, March 5 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the hospital’s 7th Floor Auditorium located at 8383 N. Davis Highway in Pensacola.  The session will be presented by local gastroenterologist Lakshmi Gopal, M.D. and Patrick Dial, M.D., oncology surgeon.

According to the American Cancer Society, excluding skin cancers, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States today.  It is expected to cause about 51,690 deaths during 2012 and occurs most often in men and women over the age of 50.  At the seminar, Dr. Gopal and Dr. Dial will discuss risk factors for the disease, diagnosis and treatment options.
