Pensacola, FL – In recognition of Heart Disease Awareness Month, the West Florida Heart Center is offering a free two-part program about women and heart disease consisting of screenings followed by program that will include dinner, a presentation by a local cardiologist, and individualized lab results.
Free lab work is available by appointment only as follows:
Saturday, January 26 – 7:00 – 9:00 a.m.
Monday, January 28 – 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, January 29 – 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, January 30 – 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, January 31 – 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.
All lab screenings will be held in Classroom 1, 7th Floor Ancillary Building, West Florida Hospital, 8383 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola.
The lab work will include a lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides), glucose,
C-reactive protein and A1C. Participants must fast after midnight. Labs are limited and registration for the free lab work is required. Participants must attend the “Women’s Heart Healthy Night Out” event on February 7th to receive lab results.
“Women’s Heart Healthy Night Out” Education Program:
On Thursday, February 7, participants will return to the West Florida Hospital campus for the “Women’s Heart Healthy Night Out” program that will be held in the hospital Cafeteria from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The evening will include dinner, individualized lab results, and a presentation by cardiologist Charles Riley, M.D. Door prizes will also be available.
Both the lab work and the “Women’s Heart Healthy Night Out” event on February 7th are free, but registration is required for both. To register, call 494-3212.
