Pensacola, FL – West Florida Healthcare is proud to announce that the West Florida Rehabilitation Institute has been awarded a three-year accreditation by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). The West Florida Rehabilitation Institute is our area’s only physical rehabilitation hospital that is accredited by CARF.
This accreditation represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to CARF’s stringent standards. To receive this accreditation, the West Florida Rehabilitation Institute put itself through a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services provide the highest quality outcomes that are measurable and accountable.
"We are very proud of the physicians and staff of the Rehabilitation Institute for earning this impressive designation," said Brian Baumgardner, president and CEO of West Florida Healthcare. "They are to be commended for their commitment to offering the highest quality physical rehabilitation programs and services to our community.”
CARF is an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. CARF establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
The CARF family of organizations currently accredits close to 50,000 programs and services at more than 22,000 locations. More than 8 million persons of all ages are served annually by more than 6,500 CARF-accredited service providers.
