Screening for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

The content below is part of the “Health Library” and is not indicative of services available at the facility.

The purpose of screening is to detect a disorder before there are symptoms so it can be treated at an earlier stage. Screening tests are administered to people without current symptoms, but who may be at high risk for certain diseases or conditions.

Screening Guidelines

There are no current screening guidelines for ADHD. Children with this condition are often identified by their classroom teacher, or their home behavior prompts their parents to seek evaluation.
