Pensacola, FL - On Wednesday, April 10, West Florida Healthcare will offer a free seminar entitled “Surgical Options for Thyroid Disorders.” The seminar will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 pm in the 7th Floor Auditorium of West Florida Hospital, 8383 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola, and the speaker will be David Tenniswood, M.D., General Surgeon with West Florida Medical Group.

The function of the thyroid in the endocrine system is to regulate metabolism (the rate at which the body burns calories). Some common thyroid disorders include goiters, hyperthyroidism (production of too much thyroid hormone) and benign nodules. While many thyroid conditions can be treated with medications, some may require surgical intervention. Attend this informative session and learn about the various types of thyroid disorders and the surgical treatment options that are available.

The seminar is free and open to the public. To register, call (850) 494-3212.
